Hello,

This is my setup:

and everything works as expected. The only problem i have is that the egpu is not present at boot time but only after the display manager service is started.

I tried to insert nvidia in /etc/modules.conf.d/modules.conf but I got a no "NVIDIA Card not present" in dmesg. Anyone can help?

I'm not sure if this will help, or if you're still having this problem, but you could try upgrading to Ubuntu 18.10. From what I've read they changed the x.org between 18.04 and 18.10 so that multiple drivers can be loaded by a single x server.
If your iGPU is interfering then maybe that would help.
