Hey guys!

I've been struggling with getting my eGPU to work on Linux for weeks. I think I'm close. My latest attempt has been to get it to work on Ubuntu 20.04.

My build for reference:

---

OS: Ubuntu 20.04

Rig: Macbook Pro Late 2019 15"

eGPU: Razer Core X Chroma + AMD Radeon RX 5700XT

---

I use hertg's egpu-swticher script. When I boot with my eGPU connected, it seems to be recognized, but I can't login - I type my username and password, it loads for about a second, then goes back to the login screen. The external display doesn't show anything while on the login screen.

What's interesting is that, if I go to the terminal from the login screen, run sudo egpu-switcher switch internal, I can then login. I tried to run sudo egpu-switcher switch egpu after that. I get the following output:

But still nothing on my external screen. Anyone have any idea what this login loop might be related to, or how to solve it?

Thank you very much in advance!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
