PopOS 21.04 GPU "working" while getting the same performance as iGPU

Hello,

I have a Thinkpad T14 with a core i7. I have that hooked up to a Razer Core X with a GTX 1070 inside it. I used egpu-switcher to set up my eGPU alongside setting NVIDIA graphics in the PopOS power settings. Everything seems to work at first glance, however I get the same performance as when I run games with just the iGPU. I saw that with PopOS you have to put :

__NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia %command%

inside the launch options to tell PopOS to use the eGPU. I have had no luck with this. I also tried using their built in "run with dedicated graphics" button on the desktop with the same result.

The real kicker is when I run nvidia-smi, it reports usage on the graphics card.

I've been struggling with this for hours and any help would be appreciated.

Here are the outputs of common commands:

nvidia-smi

lspci | grep VGA

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

So I realized I'm dumb. My CPU wasn't boosting and was locked at 800MHz. After a bios update everything is working great.
