Been given the two options for around the same price!

Alienware r3 15 with 16gb ram and 1070 gtx for around £1000 with a possible addition of the alienware graphics adapter

Razer stealth / xps 13 8550u 8gb for around a £1000 and a egpu setup further down the line (970 gtx I have already)

Can I get some user info on people that have had this dilemma before?

It depends on how you use your laptop, mostly at home, go for Alienware, a lot bringing it outside unless you’re Superman   go with stealth/xps13 and egpu setting.
CPU power 7700Hq is slightly better, Ram on egpu setting isn’t so important btw.

Like all things in life, only you can decide.

Forget the specs. Which laptop do you like using more?

Answer: A ThinkPad

ThinkPad X230t, i7-3520M @ 2.9 GHz, Windows 7
EVGA GTX 1070 Hybrid, 2113 MHz @ 1043 mV
