I plan to buy the ADT-Link R43SG since I found out that it’s faster than TB3 which is great.

My problem is that I don’t know if the Dell DA-2 will work with it since I don’t see any 8-pin slots for the DA-2 other than the one for the GPU.

If it helps to know, I will use either a GTX 1660 or an RX 580 to use an Oculus Rift. Also the laptop is a Lenovo Y700 with no SSD and so I’m gonna use it for an eGPU instead.

Here’s the link for the ADT-Link R43SG:

Yes, R43SG does have the 8-pin connector for a Dell power supply, and I can confirm it works well. It's just somewhat difficult to spot because it's right next to the 4-pin CPU connector, so it doesn't stand out visually.

Location on my board (revision 1.2):

R43SG Dell 8P

According to the schematics, the connector is present on older boards (revision 1.1) too:

R43SG Dell 8P

Lenovo ThinkPad X220 w/ Exp GDC 8.5c via ExpressCard & M.2
Lenovo Y700-17ISK w/ ADT-Link R43SG-TU via NVMe (More Info)
EVGA GeForce GTX 970 SSC ACX 2.0+ (Part # 04G-P4-3975-KR)
PSU: Dell DA-2 D220P-01 (18A), Tyco CAD240121 (20A)
