Hello everybody,
Does anyone has suggestions for a DIY build. Due to the recent skyrocketing prices in GPU's and enclosures, I'd like to know if there is a way to build an eGPU setup cheaper than buying an enclosure:
One that also offers a 65W+ Power delivery
I've been thinking in
ADT-Link R43SG M.2 50 USD + JEYI Thunderdock 7 Mini 110 USD
The downside here is that the JEYI dock only offers 60W using one cable
(are docks that offer Nvme + tb3+ 65W+ PD [already tested?])
Razer core X Board BOARD , but is 200 USD
Almost a price of a full enclosure
Buy a Sonnet EFG 550W, currently out of stock for ~250USD
Any suggestions?
My laptop is an X1 Yoga Gen 5 2 tb3 x4
Thanks
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
.JEYI Thunderdock 7 Mini is one of the rare M.2 TB3 dock/adapter that I've seen that currently offers PD > 15W
An alternative would be to purchase a TB3 enclosure with PD > 65W, examples in the buyer guide, and use a PCIe to M.2 adapter to attach a M.2 drive to it, or directly insert a video card into the PCIe slot.
