I was wondering if anyone had any experience with a Zenbook Pro + egpu.
Or perhaps you might be able to make an educated guess?

I'm considering the i7 8750 model, and pairing it with something along the lines of an Asus station pro with an GTX 1080.

It seems to have 4x PCIe for the thunderbolt connection, so it should work reasonably well right?

So I sprung for it and have purchased the Zenbook Pro UX550GE (i7 8750h), and will be posting a build composed of this laptop and a RTX 2070 in the XG station pro around the end of this year.

The laptop seems nice so far, and thermals improved by a stupidly large degree when undervolted by - 135 mV. 96°c peak before undervolt to 83°c peak averaging 79°c after 1 hour CPU stresstest.

Might have gotten lucky with my chip as I've yet to encounter any issues on my way to - 135mV.

Yes I did!

I forgot I'd already created this account, so I ended up creating a new one with which I posted a rather brief build.
