I just purchased a Razer Core X and now looking to get a GPU for it.

I am torn between 1080, 1080ti or the 2080? to be paired with my new 2018 Dell XPS 13.

On a different note, to test an eGPU setup, i have a Sapphire 7970 Vapor-X laying around and was going to stick this in the Razer Core to see what it is is like. Will this work or is this card too old?.

Thanks,

It’s not officially but according this thread from Razer Forum it works with core v1, so i think it should works as well on core x.
About new gpu i would go personally with 2060 or 2070, 1080 is already last generation and 1080ti/2080 is too much for the cpu imo, I’m using now 2070 Black with 8750H on Blade 15 and 7500U on stealth 2016. Aiming 1440p 2070 is sweat spot for performance per bucks, but if market price 2060 is 400 or lower, maybe I would go with 2060 if I were you.

Thanks for the reply.

I was under the impression that dells  i7-8550U wouldn't create a bottleneck on the 1080ti?.

If it does, i might be tempted to upgrade to the Razer Blade 15.

Looking ultimately to power my Oculus rift of this.
