Dear all,

I hope you all well...

The GTX780M inside my late 2013 27" iMac is now struggling, but I still would love to use his 27" monitor while gaming under Windows 10.

eGPU Hardware list:

  • Akitio Node TB3
  • Apple Tb3-TB2 adapter
  • Aorus Xtreme GTX 1080ti 11GB
  • Corsair SF450 PSU (additional power)

Will this be okay?
Will the Thunderbolt 1 port on the iMac be good with the above Aorus Xtreme GTX 1080ti 11GB?
What other cheaper graphic card options I have?

Best!

I have the exact same setup. Check out my build guide. If you need further assistance let me know

Hi mrgeque,
Thank you for your message.

I'm glad to have the same setup of you!

Could you please double check screenshots below and tell me if I'm good to go?
Looks like a I need a Thunderbolt 1 cable too, correct?

A picture of your final setup would be awesome too in order to see how you connected the full thing together...

Best!

I have all the EXACT same hardware. youre good to go. I could've sold you the akitio thunderbolt 3 box for 155 euro if you cover shipping. if you have not already order it

Hi mrgeque,

I'm now ready to buy everything I need to have my eGPU for my iMac 27" late 2013 and I was thinking about getting the new GTX2060...
Do you have any suggestion about which version should I get?
Also which Akitio enclosure would be able to close as I'd like to keep everything in order on my desk?

Best!

Hi guys. I’m brand new here and I’m way less knowledgeable than I’d like to be but hoping maybe I could piggy back of your shared success.

I have a late 2013 iMac that I run pretty much exclusively via bootcamp for windows 10. New games like Death Stranding won’t run.

I believe my setup is the same as yours although my screen having just measured appears to be 23 inches and has an GeForce 775M. Can I follow your path toward getting a GPU?  What kind of bill am I looking at and how much trial and error was involved?

thanks so much!!

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
