Long time voyeur, laptop choices

first of all, thanks for the formative posts, really awesome info and detail. That said, looking for some specific advice... I’m going to running intensive and sustained gpu workloads (rendering) while traveling, so need to select a tb3 laptop. That said, given the daily duration of loads on the gpu... some questions remain...

priorities in order: performance, cooling, battery life, mostly compute workloads, but graphics output to internal laptop screen when desired is required.

-go with Ultrabook and no internal gpu and solely egpu compute
-go with ultrabook with a low wattage internal gpu like to 1050 to augment the egpu
-go with a gaming laptop with low wattage gpu as that will assist with cooling due to larger chassis and fans.

uktrabooks seem ideal due to mobility and battery life, but main concern is thermal throttling and heat long term issues as reported by most. 

Any thoughts or experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Hello bro, i am interested to do the egpu project for my laptop. Anyways here are my laptop specs: https://www.msi.com/Laptop/PE60-6QE/Specification . Currently i am using the pcie nvme slot for my nvme ssd. So can i use that slot for this project. Please guide me. I want to upgrade it to gtx 970 which i already buy long ago for this project :P. Thanks 🙂
