Hello there,

Really sorry if this question is a double.

I have a Mac Mini late 2014 with Intel HD which will only output 3480 x 2160 at 30 Hz. I realised that just after buying an Asus PB27U monitor.

This Mac Mini has Thunderbolt 2 ports and Mac OS 10.13.6 (would like to upgrade to Mojave when it comes out in a few days).

This computer won't be used for gaming or 3D rendering so I assume older or cheaper graphics card will be fine.

Is there a simpler less expensive way to set up eGPU rather than buying 199$ case, a power supply and top end graphics card?

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
