Hi everyone.

I have a mac mini late2011 2,5 Ghz with built in radeonv 6630M:

I need to upgrade this mac with a egpu, although I have only a thunderbolt v.1

but I belive that the improvment of performance is worth

Looking in this site (builds) I see that nobody report a sucessfull built with this mac.

I have read (in the Sonnets site) that Sonnet built dont work with this Mac.

And what about other enclosure?

I see someone with tale 2011 mac mini have sucessful use a Akito EGPU

but with 2,3 Ghz version with built-in intel graphic.

Enyone knows that other enclosure works with my mac?

Thamk you

@ab61,  2011 Mac mini should work in macOS once you run Purge-Wrangler script. As far as hardware, besides the TB3 enclosure you'd need the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter. I'd recommend either RX 580 or RX Vega 56 due to their mature drivers in macOS.

Thank you Itsage for yours advice.

But is suspected that nobody, in the forum and in Builts, have reported to use a Egpu with this Mac specifically

and more: I read, I dont remember were, that a user have to do one downgrade of the processor ( 2,5 Ghz to 2,3) of this mac for it be able to work with a Sonnet Pucks.

This because the presence of the radeon graphic on board of the mac mini.

But this not mean that can work with other Brands.

But anyway, pheraps, is better to buy the 2018 mac mini...
