Hi I just wanted some advice on buying a video card for my Mantiz Venus.
I'm running a 2016 13" macbook pro and have a mantiz venus egpu.
Really want to get a stable card to work with the MacOs.
Don't want to mod the egpu with an additional PSU, although I know it's possible.
Has anyone used one of these cards:
ASRock Phantom Gaming X Radeon RX Vega 56

They are priced well at the moment.
Essentially I want to use the card for 3d rendering in C4D not gaming.
Any advice would be appreciated !
To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.
.@Marcus Welcome aboard. The linked RX Vega 56 graphics card is a reference design and will work perfectly with the Mantiz Venus. I have one and never had any power issues with the original 550W power supply. You will be able to use it plug-and-play in macOS 10.13.4+.

@itsage doesn't need anybody to back him up, but I got that very card for my eGPU setup with my Mac mini, and it works great (I also have a 550w power supply in my enclosure, an OWC-rebranded Sonnet).

Hi everyone,
Related question - I'm very tempted by the Mantiz Venus to pair with a 2017 MacBook Pro 15". I'm not looking for gaming performance - I would like a reliable single cable dock driving 3 monitors. The power delivery, USB and ethernet ports make the Venus very attractive as a dock.
However, I'm worried about noise. I've just tried and returned a Gigabyte RX580 Gaming Box - the whine of the small fans was not something I can live with long-term. The "quiet roar" of large fans barely turning is ok. If I'm loading the GPU, sure I expect to hear it, but if things are basically idling, I would like this to be nearly silent (sadly, not the case with the Gaming Box).
If I were to use an RX580 card in the Venus (say this one), what should I expect in terms of noise?
