Hello guys, I really happy i found out about this forum.

After 15 mins reading the build section, i think just a few posted about sff and ussf system. That's why I really need your advice.

I have an HP 8300 SFF system (3rd gen intel) and I already use egpu for quiet some times now.

Currently I got a pcie x1 to 16 riser with an rx 570 setup. But my system only got pcie v2.0 max, and x1 made more performance loss.

After read here, I found these:

and

I want to get into x4 speed, so do you think this will work if I connect that riser via pcie to nvme adapter?

like this one

thank you

bonus: my custom egpu enclosure video

wow, thanks a lot for the reply. I just know about u.2 connection.

All due respect, but I think it's not suitable to me, budget-wise.

For more fps on gaming, with $130 upgrade I could just replace rx 570 with a gtx 1070 with the current setup.

So, I am looking for a half of that (if possible)

Once again, thank you very much.

Stick with the M.2 options that you found already if you want to save money.

If someone else wanted to try external U.2, the external version of the SFF-8643 connector is the SFF-8644. These are more expensive but maybe more convenient (you don't need to drill a hole to make the cable external):
