Ryzen Mobile PCIE speed
In the website’s enclosure section there is no mention of how much speed a Ryzen Mobile CPU would provide for an eGPU. I’m not talking about thunderbolt, but rather the PCIE slot. Does anyone how an eGPU will perform?
In the M.2/NGFF section of the enclosures it has been written that the 2nd-5th gen core i processors have 4Gbps PCIE bandwidth. And with 6th gen and newer it’s 8Gbps. I want to know what speed does a Ryzen Mobile processor run on.
@kian_moiny , if looking at a M.2 eGPU via the SSD slot (NVME), what link speed does your target Ryzen system run it's NVME SSDs at? Likely x4 3.0. If planning to use the WLAN slot, what link speed does it run at? Likely x1 3.0
I am also interested in an m.2 egpu for a ryzen mobile laptop like Lenovo E495/E595.
Is there any known implementation of this?
Did you find one at https://egpu.io/builds/ ? Ryzen mobile systems could offer a low cost, high performance M.2 eGPU solution. Any pioneers want to give it a go?
I am definitely interested, but would probably wait until 7nm zen2 to try it myself. Suppose to be announced at CES2020
I'm also waiting for the launch of Zen 2 laptops for my eGPU implementation!
