Hi everyone!

I already have a quite well working eGPU setup, which you can see in my sig.

Fortunately I now came across a 2014 15" MacBook Pro for my girlfriend and of course want to make the eGPU setup available to her. Now here's my issue:

My setup is currently connected via a 2m active CalDigit Thunderbolt 3 cable, as I have no other possibility in my little home office space to place the Sonnet box to make it at least a little bit eye-pleasing :).  I've already looked for adapters, but almost always came across the male/female plug issue, which is why I cannot consider the original Apple adapter. Or maybe I am not imaginative enough 🙂

Could you give me some hints?

Thank you!

I don't think there's a one cable male TB3 to male TB option. Your best bet is the Apple Thunderbolt 3 to Thunderbolt adapter and a Thunderbolt cable.

The is no need for a male TB(2). You just need two TB3<->TB2 adapters on both sides and in the middle a TB2-cable which has two males. This works for sure, but I would like to know, if it works with that long TB2-cable.

EDIT: Forget what I said, this was the wrong thread. :p

Might be worth a try, thanks. Although I should take the shortest Thunderbolt 2 cable I can find, to avoid as much issues as possible, as my active 2m TB3 cable is already the maximum recommended length :/
