@joevt, Hi. I discussed an eGPU (via TB 3 to nvme, and then nvme to pcie x4) 3 months ago with you in this thread: https://egpu.io/forums/thunderbolt-enclosures/adt-link-r43sg-tb3/paged/13/#post-94276

I put off ordering the parts for a long time but finally did, and now after they arrived I am really struggling to make them work on my laptop. I was wandering if you would be willing to chat to me privately somewhere on how I can fix my problem (I can explain it to you properly) perhaps (if you would be willing) I could tell you my problem over Discord?

Please let me know.

Thanks.

@joshua_atie, I'm not sure I can help with a PC laptop. I've done all my eGPU work with a Mac. Send me the info in a PM either here or on macrumors.com or create a new thread here.

Mac mini (2018), Mac Pro (Early 2008), GA-Z170X-Gaming 7, Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX 580 8GB GDDR5, Radeon Pro W5700, Sonnet Echo Express III-D, Trebleet Thunderbolt 3 to NVMe M.2 case

Hey, I've been a long time admirer or eGPUs and finally got myself an AKiTiO Node to play with. I'm going to use a TB3 Macbook Pro I have and reading the Boot Camp eGPU Setup Guide - Windows Gaming with Macs I see lots of comments about "I cant wait for nVidia support in High Sierra". Now obviously we're way beyond High Sierra, so do nVidia GPUs now work well on both sides of Boot Camp, or is it still really only AMD eGPUs that work in MacOS?

Sorry if this has been asked bfore, I searched around but couldn't find an answer that seemed like they knew what they were talking about!

@josh_m, There was some support in High Sierra, but not since then.

MacOS Mojave, Catalina, and Big Sur only include driver support for AMD cards.

2018 Mac Mini + AMD RP W5500 (Sonnet Breakaway Box 650) Big Sur 11.6 + Windows 21H1

2018 Mac Mini [8th,6C,B] + RP W5500 @ 32Gbps-TB3 (Sonnet Breakaway 650) + macOS 11.6 & Win10 [build link]

Hello to everyone,

i know it may sounds annoying but i need an advice cause I haven't found my exact configuration in this forum. So thanks in advance if someone's kind enough to answer my request

Currently running MacOs Sierra on an Imac 27 late 2013, 3,2 GHz Intel Core i5,32 Go 1600 MHz DDR3, NVIDIA GeForce GT 755M 1024 Mo, SSD 250 Go.

>>> GeForce GT 755M is weak.

My wish is to update for a newer and supported OS, run a newer version of Adobe After effect (2020/2021 that supposed to work only with a minimum of 2Go Vram Graphic card) AND do some light 3D rendering (Blender and Cinema 4D)...

Don't have budget for a new mac, so I looked at some EGPU and found a Blackmagic with a RX 580 for 450 € or a Razer with Vega 64 for 550 €...

I know about the TB3/TB2 cable in need to do the connections.

So, Is this a good solution for me at this price? will it work? Or should i Go with a cheaper atikio box + Graphic card ?

Thank you for your time !
