@nando4, Sounds really interesting. I saw the build/guide u linked, and the only thing I am concerned about is if I'll be able to do it myself. How hard is it to get this to work?

Can you recommend other laptops? The Yoga is not out in Denmark till 2 months

To do: Create my signature with system and expected eGPU configuration information to give context to my posts. I have no builds.

I can confirm success with Lenovo Yoga 7 i7-1165G7 + Razer Core X Chroma . This laptop has Thunderbolt 4, one port, but this is no issue anymore (in my opinion) since the thunderbolt controller is integrated in the cpu. Best money value ratio.
I'm seeing very good results, the bios needs some tweaking, turn of Virtualization I/O (for boot screen on GPU monitor), turn off human detection setting, or similar, (otherwise you can't start laptop with lid closed), not in bios: set nvidia CP to performance (stops freezes)
However, the integrated usb hub in the razer core still doesn't seem to work, my wireless mouse and keyboard perform better on dedicated usb hub! but for SSD its ok (~400MB/s).

Using Razer X Chroma with GeForce 1660Ti and HP EliteBook x360 1030 G3 (i7-8550U)
