Hi All, new here and new to eGPU's

Basically I'm buying a Razor Core X and I'm looking at a Vega 64 for video editing ( Premiere and Davinci Resolve ) and graphics ( Cinema 4D and VDMX )  with my 2018 MBP but I'm confused about the different models of Vega 64.

I mean, are they all essentially the same thing, run the same way, are configured the same way or are there big differences in the various models?

Thanks in advance.

They are pretty similar, there are OC/Nitro+ versions which are slightly faster but Vega 64 itself is already pushed to max.
Vega FE is similiar, with more RAM and it is the PRO version for content creators.

Radeon VII is. Big step forward but you need to be patient since there is no support for it on macOS yet and Windows drivers are still young

and... welcome!

Thanks ikir, so they're all just plug and play with the MBP?

Also what's the difference with a card like the powercolor red devil Vega 64?

@eightarmedpet you are correct, but if the card is a reference card then it doesn't matter. I have a XFX Radeon VII and no issues at all, also i had a XFX Radeon Vega 64 Limited Edition and also performed great, @itsage was the one that confirmed this to me.

Reference cooler cards are the same in terms of compatibility in macOS. If it's AIB cooler then I'd be wary of XFX cards.
