Hi, from what I see your laptop hasn't any thunderbolt ports..only USB 3.0 that for latency problems (and bandwidth) it doesn't worth for a eGPU investment!

The GTX 1050 is sort of considered entry level for modern games. The Gt 1030 is considerably worse (less than half the price performance index). If you went through the effort and expenditure to connect it to your laptop (which is very limited in how to connect an eGPU to your laptop anyway) you would not get anything more than low gaming performance so may not be worth the effort. To get an idea you would probably need to remove the bottom of your laptop, remove the Wifi card and plug a cable into that port PCI-MCIE (Very awkward see youtube videos on the subject search exp gdc egpu).

yes a GPU dock similar to the EXP GDC is probably your only choice. Trickiknow has a good entertaining video on that on youtube (how to connect a graphics card to your laptop cheap). However you would probably need something better than a GT 1030. The mining boom is over so graphics cards on ebay are going cheap (GTX 1050 is a better budget card). Your laptop has a Pentium (not Core i3 or i5) processor and I'm not sure if it would bottleneck a GPU. Perhaps someone else on this forum can advise if you should try it with that CPU. If you are willing to try it of course it's your choice. No one should tell you what to do just advise if it will give you the benefits you are looking for. maybe ok for very low level gaming or higher games on low settings.

GTX 1050 $130-$150 new from online retailers (Amazon, Newegg, Walmart etc). probably as low as $90 on ebay if you find a good used or refurb one. Like I said mining boom is over so cards are cheap. I just got an RX 580 for $130 on ebay (AMD equivalent of a 1060) so prices are going down
