Hello all,

I'm about to get started in the egpu game. I recently ordered myself the Lenovo Yoga G4 and want to extend it with the Razer Core X and an AMD Vega 56. Is there something wrong with using AMD Cards? I barely see any builds with AMD Graphic cards and not-Apple-systems. I'd prefer the Vega 56 because of its price-performance-ratio.

Thank you!

There are 39 non-Apple AMD TB3 Win builds using 16 different enclosures:

https://egpu.io/builds/?table_filter=%22^((?!Apple).)*$%20%22-TB3%20%22.*Win.*\sAMD.*%22

The Mantiz Venus being the most popular TB3 enclosure from those builds. Great value currently at $279.

@nando4

well, my fault, had the Razer Core X as a filter and found only two...

So there is nothing "bad" with this type of setup? If so, I'm going to put up my build in 1-2 weeks.

I can't get the Mantiz Venus in Germany, that's why I'll take the Razer Core X...

@evmf Apple only supports AMD cards for eGPU in macOS. Therefore the majority of Mac users opt for AMD cards. Nothing is wrong with them. Raze Core X + RX Vega 56 should be working nicely with your X1 Yoga.
